PLEASE help NOW to defend against more higher taxes. Our taxes have gone up over 52% since 2005. This levy would increase that amount to over 64%!We need your help in time and finances if we will be successful in this effort.

The endless and financially unsustainble cycle of “status quo” in Westerville!
Historically, it is a fact that levies occur as the sole method of paying for the incredible raises (over twice the rate of inflation for the past several years, in fact) and Cadillac benefits the Board of Education has given the various bargaining units in contract negotiations. Issue 10 is no different. It’s time for the Superintendent and the Board of Education to take their blinders off and realize the days of “status quo” are over and the time has come to user in “common sense” solutions and live within our means!
LevyFacts has spoken to the Board several times for nearly 3 years now and sat in front of the contract negotiators in 2010 telling them that a financial train wreck was coming. Still, at a time when many in the community struggled to pay their bills, keep their jobs, or watched their life savings evaporate into thin air during the worst recession since the GREAT DEPRESSION, our Board of Education chose to ignore the warning signs… leading to the financial crisis we now face.
Contrary to what the president of the Board of Education has said, WE DO HAVE A SPENDING PROBLEM, NOT A REVENUE PROBLEM! If taxpayer money were managed properly, we would enjoying a multi-million dollar SURPLUS right now instead of cuts and a $16MM levy request.
YOUR VOTE, YOUR VOICE
Your VOTE and your VOICE has been IGNORED by the Westerville City School’s Superintendent, Dr. Dan Good, and the Board of Education!
On November 8, Issue 20 was resoundingly defeated by voters, 61% to 39%. Yet, despite that obvious message, the board decided less than 3 weeks later to place a 6.71Mill 5-year Emergency Levy on the March 2012 Ballot.
That means that for each $100,000 of home value, you will pay $205.49 more on your property tax bill. A 6.71Mill levy will generate $16.5MM in taxes, from which 82%, or $13.5MM, will go to pay for increases in salaries and benefits.

Westerville said NO!
We mean NO!
Where can I get yard signs?

Westerville is a great place to live…but the taxes are out of control! It is rediculous that we have to vote on something again that has already been decided. The people have already spoken! Financial responsibility is necessary and this levy MUST be voted down! I love kids too, but I am sick of hearing the threats to cancel sports and extracurricular activies. If they stop giving raises and large perks that the private sector doesn’t enjoy right now due to the economy, then they would have the money needed to support the kids extracurricular activities! VOTE NO ON ISSUE 10 and support a decision that the majority of Westerville residents have already made!
I was just looking at the Westerville schools website. Unbelievable! Look at ALL the Departments and Services (and each department has their own Administration). http://www.westerville.k12.oh.us/administrativeDepartment.aspx?aid=44
Next, look at the dept. of Office of Curriculum & Instruction Service: http://www.westerville.k12.oh.us/administrativeDepartment.aspx?aid=22snd
Notice ALL the Instructional Coordinators & Coaches (19) in the school district….as far my research goes, I haven’t found too many who are classroom teachers (I may be wrong)…they are curriculum coaches. Look up their salaries w/o benefits. This is CRAZY!
